Tenth Anniversary of the Girls' Volleyball Championship

We are having a celebration on the weekend of November 3. If you are or know of a volleyball player, please contact us for details. We have brainstormed a couple of ideas such as Alumni game and/or dinner. We already have heard from volleyball players as far as Hawaii saying that they are coming for the week/weekend. Be sure to log on to www.mbhs-alumni.org for details or come to an alumni meeting to help plan this exciting event.

Alumni Career & Business Mingles Date

This Academic year we will be combining Alumni Career Day and Business Mingles Day. The date will be April 4, 2008. Many of you requested that we give you some warning to save the date. How about a SIX months warning! So plan to speak at the school during the day and in the evening, we will be sponsoring a Business Mingles/Networking festivity. This is a rare opportunity where you can network with other MBHS alumni, so bring your business cards and company brochures to hand out.

But wait there's more. . .we are seeking suggestions as to a Saturday event. If you have any ideas, please forward to Albert Mar, MBHS Alumni Association, Secretary (albert@mbhs-alumni.org). Or better still, come to an alumni meeting to help plan and make these events successful.

Next MBHSAA Meeting

Our next meeting will take place On October 16, 2007. It will be at MBHS at 6PM. Please RSVP if you can make it to Albert Mar, MBHS Alumni Association, Secretary (albert@mbhs-alumni.org).

Alumni Talent Show & Gala Fundraiser at the Marriott - What a great time!

Thanks to everyone who came to the 30th yr Anniversary Alumni Talent Show on March 25th and the Gala at the Marriott Hotel on April 1st. The talent show was one big flash back of the 90's! The songs, the auditorium, the school tour, walking around and around looking for the darn exit.... All in all, we had a great time! Afterwards we hung at Uno's for drinks and a late dinner. It was great to see people we hadn't seen in over 10 years!!! We had such a good time. We all look forward to seeing more of our Class 1990 classmates in future reunions. Be on the look out for future reunion announcements. Feel free to email me with your ideas or suggestions of WHEN and WHERE. The more involvement, the merrier!

The Gala at the Marriott was a great affair. It was very touching to see our former teachers and let them know how they had impacted my life. Ms. Cardona, Ms Phillips, Mr. Hakim, Mr. Cohen, Mr. Schott, Ms. Reisen, Ms. Shore, Ms. De La Luz, and the faces and names kept coming!!! After the program honoring our Bergtraum heritage and Dr. Christen's contributions as our founding principal, the eating/drinking & dancing didn't stop until midnight. It was a fabulous time.... until the cramping in my legs woke me up the next morning! ugh

On my drive home, I realized why I've been putting effort into this reunion thing...

Call me sentimental, but I just think it's great to reconnect with people with whom we shared such an important time of our lives.

Looking forward to reuniting with the Class of 1990!

Saturday, April 1, 2006 The Gala at the Marriott Financial Center --- Yes gang, Mr. Hakim will be there and so will Ms. Escobar. Teachers will be at this event so please come and support your school. Tickets are $150 dollars and we are honoring Dr. Barbara Christen our founding principal and don't forget about our silent auction. Items such as $350 dollar bracelet, movie tickets, Nike sneakers, tickets to Wicked, a weeks timeshare in Orlando Florida, restaurant certificates are just some of the items that will be auctioned away. Would you like to donate? Let us know.

We are also printing a journal and ads can be purchased. Prices range from $100 to $5 so if you are interested, please make your checks payable to MBHS and send them to Barbara Esmilla @ MBHS 411 Pearl Street, New York NY 10038.
